Transfer old world?

Is it possible to transfer one Minecraft world to another device?
I've been long time player and have long lasting world on my PS3, it's survival world that I've played for at least 1000 hours.
Now I would like to transfer my world to Minecraft Java edition or something and also get it updated as old world is still on Minecraft 1.8.
Is there any way I can do that without losing my things?
